Demo-Life is a youth exchange about discovering Democracy which will take place in Krakow between December 2017 and January 2018. Young people from 6 European countries will meet there – in total 36 participants. The whole project will be realized using the methods of the non formal education. Young people will during the workshops, discussions and simulations discover other aspects of Democracy.

Aim of the project is to awake reflection on the essence of democracy and raise awareness of its various dimensions. Objectives of the project are to research and compare how various aspects of democracy function in different countries, to draft own role as a participant of democracy and a path to become one etc.

Project Activities

This Erasmus+ project consist of two acticities: Advanced Planning Visit (APV) and  Youth Exchange. The idea of the APV is to meet with the whole team of youth leaders, discuss the programme of the Youth Exchange and prepare together in the way that it reflects expectations of all partner organisations.

  1. APV (Advance Planning Visit): 17th-19th November 2017
  2.  Youth Exchange: 29th December-7th January 2018

Participant Profile

There will be 6 participants per country for the youth exchange (5 participants and 1 group leader). Participants are supposed to be young people interested in discovering various spheres of democracy. The desired age of the participants is 18 – 23 years old.

For the APV we need 2 persons from each country – 1 leader and 1 young person.

Participants who want’s to attend the all two activities will be preferred.  

Participant’s prerequisites:

  • Be present and have an active participation on all sessions
  • Show initiative and interest in the topic and follow up activities
  • Be over 18 years old


All activities (the APV and Youth Exchange) will be implemented in Krakow, Poland. Krakow is the biggest city of Lesser Poland and one of the biggest cities in the country. It is a spirited and stimulating city, with the very reach history.


Accommodation and Food

Accommodation and food will be covered by the host organization. The youth exchange and the APV will take place in the scout youth centre „Ośrodek Korzkiew”. The venue is located 15 kilometers out of the city center, but in the beautiful historical surroundings. Participants will stay in 4 nationally mixed rooms separated for boys and girls.



The travel cost will be reimbursed up to 180 EUR for round trip.

Recently there are also many comfortable international bus connections to Krakow which will take you directly to the city center. To reach our venue you need get to Krakow Main Railway station called “Krakow Głowny” and take the tram 3, 5 or 50 to Krowodrza Górka (end stop). From there take the bus 267, direction Smardzowice, to Korzkiew Zamek. Somebody will pick you up from there.

General Information

Health and travel insurance: the participants are required by Erasmus+ program to have a valid European health insurance and a valid travel insurance for the period of the projects including the travel dates.

What to bring: warm clothes, slippers or sneakers for indoor, towel waterproof jacket and comfortable shoes for outdoor activities.

Currency: the official currency is Polish Zloty (PLN). 1 EUR is about 4.2 PLN.

Cultural nights: each country is expected to prepare a program to present their culture, to bring some typical local drinks and foods and prepare a cultural program like presentation of local tradition, music, dance etc. Creative methods for presentation will be used, so no power point/youtube videos will be accepted.

Meals: the host will provide you with three meals/day. The meals will take into account all the participants dietary aspects such as allergies, intolerance and preferences. They will also have vegetarian.

Participation Fee: each participant will have to pay 15€ in order to take part in this youth exchange, it can be paid in cash at the beginning of the project.
