This Erasmus+ project gives the opportunity to youth workers to raise their awareness and improve their understanding regarding the First Aid procedures and Disaster risk reduction aiming to improve the quality of the safety and protection project plan in Erasmus+ projects. The participants will be more aware on developing their own skills on providing first aid and become more responsible about their potential of saving lives.

Accommodation and Food

Accommodation and food will be covered by the host organization. The Training Course will take place in Hotel Kouty. Kouty is a village in the Vysocina Region of the Czech Republic. The region is the location of two mountain ranges, Zdarske vrchy and Jihlavske vrchy, both part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The Vysocina Region is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the most in any region in the Czech Republic. Accommodation will be arranged for 2 persons/room, grouped by gender. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served at the same location every day. Each room has its own bathroom.

Participant Profile

The target group of this project are youth workers who are interested to improve their skills on providing first aid and become more responsible about their potential of saving lives.

The specific criteria based on which we will evaluate applicants and select participants:

  • Experience in youth work
  • Interest in the topic of the project
  • Motivation to participate in the project
  • Experience in facilitation or supporting group learning activities

Participant’s pre-requisites:

  • Be a youth worker
  • Be present and have an active participation on all sessions of the TC
  • Show initiative and interest in the topic and follow up activities
  • Be over 18 years old
  • Have a fluent command of English language

Travel Information

The travel budget for Slovak participants is 180 EUR. You must keep all the bills, boarding passes and all kinds of tickets with you because host organization needs them to reimburse your travel cost. The hotel itself is not accessible by any public transport so the participants must arrive to Svetla nad Sazavou where they  will be organized pickup by minibus. You can get to Svetla nad Sazavou from Prague by taking a train which goes cca every 2 hours and it takes approximately 1.5 hours. The ticket price is around 8-10 Euro.

Participants are advised to travel together with the same transport.

Participants traveling to Prague or Brno must book the travel tickets to be in Prague or Brno on 12th December at 18:30 the latest and the return tickets with departure time after 12:00 on 22nd December.

General Information

Weather conditions: the average temperature in December is between -10 °C and 5 °C during the day. Please check accuweather.com for more updated information about the weather.

Currency in Czech Republic: is Czech Koruna, 1 EURO is about 25 CZK.

Important to know: there will not be reliable internet connection neither mobile network.

Dress code: Casual comfortable sport wear, slippers or sneakers for indoor use, waterproof jacket and comfortable warm shoes for outdoor activities.

Cultural nights: each country is expected to prepare a program to present their culture, to bring some typical local drinks and foods and prepare a cultural program like presentation of local tradition, music, dance etc.

Meals: three meals/day and two coffee breaks will be provided. The meals will take into account all the participants dietary aspects such as allergies, intolerance and preferences. There will be vegetarian menu as well.

Health and travel insurance: the participants are required by Erasmus+ program to have a valid European health insurance and a valid travel insurance for the period of the projects including the travel dates.
